Due to the presence of a phenolic hydroxyl group, 1-Hydroxyacetophenone exhibits antioxidant properties and is commonly used as an antioxidant. 

However, because of its strong preservative effects, it is also frequently used as a preservative booster (often combined with ingredients such as 1,2-Hexanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, and Ethylhexylglycerin to replace traditional preservatives).

It demonstrates excellent stability across a wide range of pH levels and temperatures. 

 Usage Recommendations: 

-Recommendation 1: 0.4% 1,2-Hexanediol + 0.5% 1-Hydroxyacetophenone 

-Recommendation 2: 0.8% 1,2-Hexanediol + 0.4% 1-Hydroxyacetophenone 

1-Hydroxyacetophenone, also known as 4-Hydroxyacetophenone or Xylenol Orange, is a white needle-like crystalline solid at room temperature. Due to the symmetry of the benzene ring and its ability to form intermolecular hydrogen bonds, it has a high melting point and appears as a crystalline powder at room temperature. It is slightly soluble in water.
