Similar to caprylyl glycol, it also has the optimal carbon chain length (C8) that promotes the degradation of cell membrane structures.
CHA exhibits highly selective chelation with Fe²⁺ and Fe³⁺. In environments with limited iron ions, the growth of mold is restricted.
