Ommo has pioneered the permanent magnet approach, which comes with several unique advantages.

First, we do not require a line of sight, which is often the biggest limitation of conventional camera-based tracking systems. The magnetic signal we generate can safely pass through most materials including the human body, allowing a seamless tracking experience.

Second, unlike other magnetics-based tracking systems that rely on the electrical generation of the magnetic fields (electromagnetic), we utilize the existing magnetic field of the permanent magnet. This means we not only do away with high power consumption but also have a more stable signal that is less prone to distortion by metals in the environment. This is perhaps the strongest advantage Ommo brings to the market, as it greatly improves the usability of various medical applications.

Third, because we do not need many high-cost components like the previously mentioned legacy systems, Ommo's system can be up to 90% more affordable. This not only encourages broader adoption of the existing applications but also allows exploration of new applications.
