Gangneung Jangkal

About Jang-Kalguksu

It originated from Gochujang Kalguksu, where North Koreans living in Gangwon-do used to draw their hometowns and mix red pepper paste, and has become a representative local food in Yeongdong, Gangwon-do, which is characterized by its spiciness.

Now, it is widely known to the public as a must-eat food when traveling to Gangneung.

Broth

Gangneung Jang-Kalguksu is a red pepper paste broth made after boiling 12 hours of Busan Gijang kelp in cold water, boiling 8 hours with 10 natural broth ingredients, and setting it for 48 hours.

Noodles

The finest flour is projected and kneaded in a vacuum, and Gangneung Jangkal's high-quality noodles produced by hand are used to add softness and chewy texture.
