3. Purpose and Function

1) Purpose of Product

GeneTM has been developed to collect and carry Nasopharyngeal  Oropharyngeal specimen for PCR testing for respiratory diseases

2) Function of the medium

Medium includes surfactant, guanidine to store specimen stably and helps extract Nucleic Acids of 

virus for PCR testing. Medium also inactivates virus after collection in order to prevent further 

infection. 

4. Stability Test – Medium transport period

1) Testing Method

Tested 7 types of nucleic acids with GeneTM Set in terms of 0, 1, 2, 4 & 7 days

2). Test details

① Used NIMBUS with STARMag 96 reagent for extraction

② Used Allplex Respiratory Panel 1, 2, 3(Seegene) for PCR testing

③ Test stability by comparing Ct value under acceptable range. 

     Lower Ct values means higher stability

5. Inactivation test

1) Testing Method

Test reproduction of Escherichia coli after putting bacteriophage in GeneTM for a period of time

2) Test 내용

① Include M13 bacteriophage in GeneTM and test reproduction of E. Coli after 1, 3 & 24hours.

② Compare GeneTM with 4 other products for inactivation test
