Product Information
Crude Oil collected from Gurjun Tree (Popularly known as Keruing Timber Tree) is naturally dark in appearance hence called as Gurjun Dark. The crude oil also can be re-distilled to obtain gurjun light. Gurjun balsam itself is an oleoresin exuded from trees of the Di pterocarpus species which grow in various parts of Asia, particularly in India and is used in the varnish and lacquer industry there. In natural perfumery can be used in a wide variety of compositions as inexpensive fixative and blender/modifier in the same way as other similar materials such as copaiba, guaiacwood and sandalwood.

Van Aroma was founded in 2006 with a mission to PROVIDE OPTIMAL QUALITY INDONESIAN NATURAL ESSENTIAL OILS TO THE GLOBAL MARKET.
We setup our first facility in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. This is where the collection and standardisation of essential oils initially took place. At the time of our genesis, Patchouli Oil and Nutmeg Oil were the only two products we dealt with. Our progressive planning quickly led us to expand our services to products such as Clove Oil, Vetiver Oil and several other natural extracts from Java and Sulawesi. In 2009, we added our second facility in Jakarta to keep up with the growing demand of our products.
This helped us in focusing on the production of further refined products like the many different derivatives of clove and patchouli oil. Today we have expanded our workforce and boardenend our infrastructural capabilities to include reaction, solvent extraction and steam distillation unit.
