│ COMPANY INTRODUCTION │

Gangwha Forestry Cooperative is a public company established in May, 1962, with the purposes of supplying
needed technology and funds, as well as information, to its members. Also it is expanding and facilitating the
sale and distribution of forest products produced by its members.

The cooperative built a forest product processing factory in 1994 through its members’ purchasing, sorting and
producing the raw materials into final products.

Since 1999, it has developed ways of extracting essence from Gangwha Mugwort that is a specialty medicinal
plant indigenous to Gangwha Island. It has displayed its products in such exhibitions as International Food
Industry Exhibition Seoul, Foodex Japan, and Chingdao/Weihai International Foods Expo and received high
remarks from customers. In 2006, the Gangwha Mugwort was registered under the protected geographical
indication number 16 in acknowledgement of its medicinal excellence.
 
In 2010, the cooperative built another forest product processing factory, opened a shop solely for the sale of
mugwort-based goods, and introduced a modern sanitary manufacturing system to produce high-quality
Gangwha mugwort and Gangwha Doraji(Platycodon grandiflorus) essences and powders. It has done and will
do its utmost to contribute to developing health foods that customers can trust and eat safely.
