Bentonite clays in many countries have long been used in medicine as adsorbents. It is believed that these clays have the ability to adsorb poisons, bacteria and toxins.
Currently, bentonite clays are used in more than 200 different areas of production.
A large volume of bentonite clays is used in the oil refining industry and deep drilling of wells. Various types of bentonite clays are used in cosmetics for the production of creams and powders, in household chemicals in the production of soap and detergents.
In the food industry for clarifying wines and cleaning cottonseed oil.
In plant growing, when 100-200 kg of soil is applied per hectare of bentonite clay powder, yields are significantly increased, including forage crops, and the structure of the soil improves.
Recently, bentonite clays have been used as natural mineral additives in animal feeds. Thus, when of 0.5-2.0% (by weight) of bentonite clay powder is added to milk cows, milk yields and milk fat content increase, and up to of 2.5% in mixed feed for hen hens their productivity and egg shell strength increase. It has been established that bentonite clays possess not only medicinal properties, but also contain more than 20 kinds of macro-and microelements. In Uzbekistan, more than 40 kaolinic and 180 bentonite deposits are known. The physical properties and chemical composition of 10 kaolinic and 20 bentonite deposits are well studied. Bentonite and kaolin clays contain silicon, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, sodium and other microelements in the form of compounds with oxygen.
According to geologists, these bentonite clays are a product of a centuries-old oceanic sediment and formed about 25 million years ago, at a time when the surface of the deposit was covered with water. On radiation safety this bentonite belongs to the first class, it can be used in medicine for the production of medicines and in agriculture.
