Product Information

Calcium Fish Bone Microcrystalline hydroxyapatite (MCHC) powder is manufactured by United Fisheries Ltd using fish sourced from commercially caught New Zealand Marine fish species (excluding Salmonidae species) according to the quota management system.

Fish bone contains approximately 30% organic material and 70% inorganic material. Fish bone contains high levels of calcium, phosphorus, collagen and other trace elements. The calcium and phosphorus in fish bone has a natural physiological ratio of approximately 2:1, the perfect ratio for the human and animal body to absorb and utilize the calcium. When all the minerals in bone are naturally present in the right ratio, it then forms a crystalline structure called hydroxyapatite.

Benefits & features of Fish bone Calcium:-

  • Highly bio available form of calcium
  • Specially processed to retain all minerals and keep calcium and phosphorus intact in their natural physiological ratio
  • Contains marine collagen Contains other trace elements including magnesium, iron, and zinc
  • Contains approximately 14% collagen

Company introduction

United Fisheries Ltd is a family owned business that has grown since 1974 from modest beginning to become one of the top ten seafood companies in New Zealand. The company is largely self-sufficient by having:

  • Its own fishing quota with substantial holdings in the main commercial species.
  • Supply of frozen seafood from its own chartered deep-sea factory trawlers.
  • Supply of fresh seafood from its own inshore ice-vessels as well as independently owned ice-vessels.
  • Supply of Greenshell™ Mussels from its own marine farms.
  • Modern land based processing facilities equipped with the latest technology.
  • State-of-the art facility for the process of hydrolysed liquid fish protein from fish waste.
  • A separate well equipped factory for the process of dietary supplements, which maintains a stringent quality control system based on HACCP principles.

All products are subject to daily quality assays and regular laboratory tests.

The company has a highly knowledgeable and experienced team of production, marketing, and administration personnel and is one of the largest employers in the Christchurch area.

Our aim is “not to be the biggest, but the best” at what we do.
