Human body is at first designed to work while standing. A chair was developed to provide a momentary relaxation to our body that works while standing. However, modern men sit for 13 hours a day, sleep for 8 hours and move for 3 hours a day on the average. Indeed, the modern men are stricken with sitting diseases.  Sitting for a long time is not good for health. Sitting on a chair for a long time has a high probability of contracting arthritis, high blood pressure, cancer and diabetes mellitus. Many world renowned research papers have published that sitting on a chair is more harmful than smoking. Hence, chairs designed to work while standing have come to be commercialized. The body weight in the standing posture is supported by pelvis, knees and ankles. However, all the body weight during the sitting posture must be supported by pelvis and spines to apply a tremendous pressure to the intervertebral discs. Even in the perfect sitting posture, a severe burden is applied to the back when observed through MRI images. However, is it really possible to work while standing all through the day? The stand-working may not be good for accomplishing an effective business handling. Thus, we have manufactured, for the first time in the whole world, HARA chairs realized with the seat surface pressure distribution system. The HARA chairs are designed to maximally reduce the harmful effects of sitting diseases caused by working while sitting. The HARA chair is divided in seat surfaces to two sides, whereby a center of seat surface is designed to vertically move according to weight of the human body when a person sits thereon. Thus, the HARA chair is so designed as to allow sitting in a straight posture even if not intended as there are no damages to pelvis and intervertebral discs when seated for a long time. This posture is resultantly conducive to maintaining an S curve line, which is an inherent shape of intervertebral discs.
