│ How to Use │

Stir it with chopsticks until it makes sticky strings. Add mustard or flavored soy sauce, as you like. You can eat natto at mealtimes.

│ What is Natto? │

The word “natto” in Japanese corresponds to the Korean word “cheonggukjang,” both mean fresh, fast-fermented bean paste. In Japan, natto is praised as a traditional health food.
Natto is made by fermenting boiled beans with bacillus. It is one of the best ways to absorb nutrients contained in the beans.
In natto, sticky mucus coats the surface of beans, and it gets even stickier by stirring natto with chopsticks. After that, pick up some beans with your chopsticks, and you can see web- or thread-like strings coming up: they are bacillus.
We at Pyeongchang Natto put 50 g of beans in a container. After inoculating bacillus, the container is tightly packed to prevent contamination by any other bacteria, and they are fermented in an automated fermentation chamber.
As bacillus is alive, natto is best served in a fresh, uncooked form so that you can benefit from the live bacillus.

Booil Agricultural Company introduced the domestic-first auto production machinery for natto production from in Japan in 1996 and established a factory that has been producing natto since 1997. Currently it sells the item at home and abroad under the brand name "Pyeongchang Natto".

 

Natto (fast-fermented bean paste) that has been produced and consumed mainly in Japan is similar to cheonggukjang, Korea's traditional health food. However, Natto has cheonggukjang’s distinctive odor removed, and thus is also hygienic and traditional health food. .

 

Natto is a food made of boiled beans that has been fermented and aged by microorganisms (Bacillus), and is also one of the best foods that make us absorb solar energy contained in soy.
