After more than 25 years in business, Korea Antique Ltd. has evolved into a leading manufacturer of finely crafted, handmade reproduced antique wood furniture. During the same period of time, both the vision and the leadership of the company have passed from one generation to the next.

Kwak Sang Young first started his career in the furniture business in 1988 as the general manager of Dragon Antique until he took over the company in 2003. Today, Korea Antique Ltd. is renowned for its timeless designs, crafted from premium grade hardwoods and complemented by a broad range of hand-applied finishes, exquisitely expressing the Korean ancestor’s life and culture.

As a furniture designer, he puts all his energy and time into the business. The passion that he has for art, craft and furniture is shown in each furniture pieces that he created. As a traditional furniture artisan, he says, “The head and the heart are as essential as the hands”.

The company has long since crossed the threshold of the second generation. After spending time working on the factory floor and in their showrooms, Kwak’s son, Min Woo joined the company full time. He now serve as managing director and head of sales and marketing, furthering his father’s passionate pursuit of excellent design, craftsmanship and service.

The Kwaks pride themselves on the vast array of handcrafted traditional medicine chests, buffet tables and cabinets by their highly skilled craftsmen. Based on a 5,000 year long history, Korean wood furniture represents the natural beauty of the Korean ancestor’s life. Natural resources and climate factors are precious factors for the uniqueness of their Korean traditions.

The entire line is manufactured in the company’s facility in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.
