Composition: There are two kinds of magnesium oxide, light magnesium oxide and heavy magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide is generally referred to heavy magnesium oxide.
Property:
Heavy magnesium oxide is white or yellowish-white powder, odorless, tasteless. Absorb carbon dioxide slowly when exposed in the air. Heavy magnesium oxide is hardly soluble in the water, insoluble in water and ethanol, soluble in acid. Heavy magnesium oxide transforms into crystals after burning in high temperature above 1000 ℃, transforms into dead burned magnesium oxide or sintered magnesium oxide. Absorbing carbon dioxide in the air, high purity magnesium oxide transform into magnesium carbonate double salt.
Application:
Heavy magnesium oxide is widely used as high-temperature resistant materials. It is perfect raw materials for ceramic crucibles, substrate and so on with good light permeability in translucent field. Heavy magnesium oxide can be used as filling for magnetic device and variety of carriers in electronic materials and electric field. When used as ceramic crucibles, the thermal conductivity of heavy magnesium oxide is twice higher than aluminum oxide, and the loss of electrolyte is only 1/10 of aluminum oxide. Heavy magnesium oxide also can be used as filling for heat resistant coating.
