Luglio’s family history dates back in 1953 when LUIGI LUGLIO, the father, and his sons start the activity in their  own oil-mill placed in the town of Terlizzi, north of Bari. 

The devotion to tradition and the direct attention to time’s changes make Luglio Company a reference point for the processing of extra virgin olive oil from Bari area, whose extra virgin olive oil has been judged by many experts among the finest in the world.  The company is placed in the midst of one of the most important olive oil regions called Terra di Bari that has always boasted a strategic position for the production and trading of the extra virgin olive oil.

Today Luglio Company is, definitely, one of the most important in olive oil processing at national level and, as a result of its growing activity, it has been created a new factory more apt  to satisfy the increasing requirements.

The new established company - MEDSOL SRL – has a warehouse of  2000 m² , a section of 600 m²  devoted to offices and quite 7000 m²  of open area. The main target of this new company team is to promote the extra virgin olive oil of high quality such as the Italian extra virgin olive oil, the Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and the Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P.. With reference to D.O.P., our company has tanks of 5000 hl. each equipped with leaf nitrogen in order to store it   

Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P. (i.e. Denomination of Protected Origin) that is the chief recognition for the good qualities by which the European Community guarantees to the consumers the place of origin and the typicality of the region of Bari, preserved by the Consortium “Terra di Bari-  Terrautentica”.  

The environmental and growing conditions of olive tree groves designed for  our Dop Extra Virgin Olive Oil production, must be typical of the geographic area, cultivation and pruning  must be traditional in order to not to modify the native characteristics  of the olives.

The Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P. Terra di Bari -  Bitonto is obtained from the renowned cultivars Cima di Bitonto and Coratina which are grown and processed exclusively in the area of Bari in total agreement and respect of  a production’s technical policy whose enforcement is managed by an organization recognized by  the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, this  allows to achieve an high quality extra virgin olive oil which is unique according to its organoleptic  and healthy properties. 

The Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P. Terra di Bari -  Bitonto, is characterized by a full-bodied texture, a color yellow faded green and by a fruity taste with hint of fresh grass slightly bitter,. which make it unique among the other varieties of extra virgin olive oil. It is balanced and is also characterized by a very low acidity ( < 0,5 per 100 gr. of oil). It is an excellent extra virgin olive oil with a superb taste good for seasoning a great variety of dishes without covering their flavor.
