Product Information
1. Problems of disposable paper cup
Paper cup 100% made of pulp. PE is coated inside the cup to prevent spill. The material coated inside the cup is known at the moment to create environmental hormones, if the cup is left over 4 minutes at 100°C boiling water. PE in this case is LDPE(Low Density Polyethylene), which is made by polymerization of ethylene gas from petroleum. LDPE is used for paper cup.
Many people use disposable products like paper cup and paper dish, as Bispenol A(BPA) is found some plastic containers and cans. However, disposable products also contain BPA. Recycled pulp is widely used for manufacturing paper dish. The pulp is too short to put into manufacturing dish as it is. So, certain adhesive has to be used to stick pulp together and BPA is contained in the adhesive. Also, paper cup is exposed to environmental hormones because it is coated with plastic material like PE to make it water-resistant. Considering all the above facts, we learn that leaving hot tea in paper cup for a long time may cause an exposure to environmental hormones.
