Specification (Click to the large image)

  • Forged Carbon steel body and Alloy steel pin
  • Quenching & Tempering
  • Hot-Dip galvanized Body and Orange painted pin.
  • Proof load is 2.0 times the S.W.L. and Breaking load is 6.0 times the S.W.L.
  • Screwpin anchor shackles meet the performance requirements of Federal specification RR-C-271D Type IVA, Grade A, Class 2.
  • Cast stainless steel(1/4"∼1-1/2")

1. General Theory

  • Never apply more force than the shackle's assigned Safe Working Load(SWL/WLL) rating.
  • Shackles are used in lifting and static systems as removable links to connect wire rope, chain and other fittings.
  • Screw pin type shackles are mainly used for non-permanent applications.
  • Bolt type shackles are preferably used for long term or permanent applications and in circumstances where the pin of the shackle may rotate during loading.
  • Chain shackles are mainly on one-leg systems and Anchor shackles on multi-leg systems.

2. Before Using

  • Working place always shall be the lighting.
  • Shall be work, before remove dangerous article in the surroundings.

3. Using

  • Never make a wrong application of the rule. (Overloading & Improper use can result in injury.)
  • Over the 20kg weight products' using, must be use an appliance tool. (Forklift, crane, hoist, etc.)
  • Where apply, must locate outside the danger zones. (A falling load may cause serious injury or death.)
  • Never repair, alter, rework, or reshape a shackle by welding, heating, burning, bending or grinding.
  • Side-loads should be avoided as the products are not designed for this purpose.(See Figure 1, Table 1)

4. After Using

Should extreme circumstances or shock loading be applicable, this must be well taken into account on selecting the product to be used.

  • Figure 1
    - Angle loads must be applied in the plane of the bow.
  • Figure 2
    - Synthetic Slings Rated Load
    - Folding, Bunching or pinching of synthetic slings, which occurs when used with shackles, hooks or other applications will reduce the rated load
  • Figure 3
    - Shackles Point Loading
    - Point Loading of DCH shackle bows is acceptable
    - Point Loading of DCH shcakle pins is acceptable
    - As long as load is reasonably centered on the pin
  • Figure 4
    - Place pin in eye of sling
  • Figure 5
    - Wire Rope Slings and Connections to Fittings
    - Never place a sling eye over a fitting with a diameter or with a diameter or width greater than onehalf the natural length of the eye
  • Figure 6
    - Wire Rope Slings and Connections to Fittings
    - Use a thimble to protect sling and to increase D/d
    - Never place ete over a fitting smaller diameter or width than the rope's diameter
  • Figure 7
    - How can use the shackle?
  • Figure 8
    - Never Exceed 120° included angle.
    - Use Bolt Type and Screw pin shackles Only.
    - Shackles symmetrically loaded with two leg slings having a maximum included angle of 120° can be utilized to full Working Load Limit.

Table 1

  • If side-loads are required following : Side Loading Reduction Chart
  • For Screw Pin and Bolt Type Shackles Only (Do not side Load Round Pin Shackles)
Angle of Side Load from Vertical In-Line of Shackle Adjusted Working Load Limit
0° In-Line 100% of Rated Working Load Limit
45° In-Line 70% of Rated Working Load Limit
90° In-Line 50% of Rated Working Load Limit

* In-Line load is applied perpendicular to pin.
