Silk has the characteristics to adapt to changes in temperature. It can be warmer in the winter or cold season and cooler in the summer or hot season. Silk has a strong fiber structure, high elasticity and good tenacity.
All pure silk quilts are healthy, light-weight, soft and thermal insulating. Moreover, a pure silk quilt has the characteristics of air permeability, no static electricity and can effectively clean the environment in the room.
According to scientific research and medical findings, natural silk contains the special Sericin composition which inherits with 18 kinds of amino acids. As natural cellular albumen fiber, silk is essential for the health, protecting against pains in joints, insomnia and asthma.

Zuhrah Pelangi Silk Quilt Testing Results has recently being awarded the Oeko-Tex standard 100 certification by the Swiss Textile Testing Institute(TESTEX) from Zurich, Switzerland. According to the results made by the Institute, the result analysis is very envouraging: Zuhrah Pelangi produced pure Silk Quilt meet all the requirements of Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which are suitable for baby usage and also the human-ecological requirements. The test concluded that there is no harmful substance in the silk floss. It is made of 100 percent natural silk fiber and also fulfills the requirements of the existing European legislation regarding the use of azo-dyes in silk production. |

In year 1999, Zuhrah Pelangi Sdn. Bhd. was tasked with the operation and management by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) for their 128 hectares silk farm located at Sematan District, Kuching Province. The Sematan Silk Farm is currently the only silk farm in Malaysia. In Year 2000, Zuhrah has engaged two sericulture experts from Suzhou University, China for providing intensive technology transfer and training in silk farm development. Beginning of year 2003, under the encouragement and guidance of our beloved Chief Minister of Sarawak, Zuhrah has decided to develop the downstream operations. Zuhrah invited two skilled silk quilt technicians from Jiangsu Province,China to provide intensive training and guiding for silk quilt production. After 6 months training, our staff has mastered the production of 100% high quality silk quilts for the market. In December 2003, the Chief Minister of Sarawak has officially launched the 100% High Quality Silk Quilt for Zuhrah in Kuching.
Zuhrah has further invested RM5 Million in building a state of the art factory producing Hand-drawn Batik and Digital Printed Textile located at Desa Senadin Industrial Park, Miri, Sarawak. The factory is carrying the brand name of “SARTEX” for Zuhrah. We have hired a team of fashion and graphic designers, as well as engaged a well experienced staff for traditional hand drawn batik. The RM1 million digital printing production lines that we have invested can produce various types of highly sophisticated textiles, in order to provide the best service and courtesy to our guests and visitors. We are ready to work closely with Miri City Council and Sarawak Tourism Board to promote Miri alliance with the vision of healthy and colorful Miri Resort City.
