Enerkeeper eliminates the energy-wasting factors, improves the quality of the power supply, and considerably reduces electrical bills, lengthening lifespan of the electrical equipments.
This innovative device is installed at the output of a transformer or a main circuit breaker. It works effectively and efficiently at any level of electrical load by improving power quality, reducing harmonics and phase current imbalance. Furthermore, this device yields good performance with just one unit whereas other compared products require a combination of two or more units. In fact, Enerkeeper is the only power-saving device that focuses on the majority of power quality problems for the total electrical load of small to large facilities.
Functions and Effects
Patented Technology
The EK ATW(Auto-Transformer Winding) technology helps in eliminating the unbalance, hamonics, and reactive power by offsetting the zero-phase current in each phase. As shown in the below in the diagram, the first coil is wound around the first and secone legs, and the third coil is wound around the third and first legs. In each phase, these coils should be wound in the opposite direction before connection to the neutral wire. This make out to keep constant magnetic-flux and opposite direction of the current flow in each phase and automatically reduces the distorted-wave-form currents, which are harmonice current and unbalance current.
Basically, an alternative current takes the form of sine wave, but as there is more increase in unbalance and harmonics, the basic sine wave form turns distorted, resulting an consumption to keep the constant output. The frequent occurrence of unbalance and harmonics results in an increase in current consumption, power consumption and highter resistance.
Enerkeeper is designed to eliminate the energy-wasting factors using the "zigzag" winding technology, increases the efficiency of electric equipments, and reduces the power consumption.
Harmonics

According to the Article 115 of the Indoor wiring Regulation of the Korea Electric Association;
- 1-phase 3-wire type of low-voltage power -receiving units : 40% or less
- 3-phase 3-wire or 3-phase 4-wire type of low-/high-voltage power-receiving units : 30% or less
3-Phase Load Unbalance
According to the codes and standards of the US National Electrical Manufacturers' Association,
- A voltage unbalance of 3.0% results in approximately a 10% decrease in the capacity of the inductive motor; and
- A voltage unbalance of 4.4% leads to approximately a 20% decrease in the capacity of the inductive motor
Reactive Power
An increase in reactive power causes a reduction in transmission capacity compared to apparent power, resulting in a transmission loss. Accordingly, there is a naturally increasing loss in the electric generator or transformer. Then offset compensatons are generally taken as the action to improve power factor by using another reactive power of an opposite direction. The improvement of power factor provides many cost-effective advantages such as a reduction in electricity rates and a decrease in power consumption and transformer capacity.
