Interpretation of Result

- Total Aerobes Monitoring

Bacteria are too small to see with the naked eye, but reproduce rapidly in proper growth condition and form a few milimeters of colonies. You can see the colonies with your eyes.

- Coliform Monitoring

• Total Aerobes Monitoring : Growing bacteria form red colonies as above, because the medium for detection of total aerobes contain a staining redox dye (2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride, TTC) which indicate red-color in reduction of tetrazolium salts.
  Count numbers of red colonies, and record it as the number of total aerobes.
  
  
• Coliform Monitoring : Coliforms form purple colonies by β-galactosidase producing and E.coli forms blue colonies by β-glucuronidase producing, because the medium contain chromogenic enzyme substrates. Colonies of other colors excepting blue to purple are interpreted as non-coliforms.
  Count numbers of blue to purple colonies and record it as the number of coliforms.

Record of Result

Record the result as the tables below. If you get the result of poor hygiene, check again after action for improvement of hygiene. Periodic monitoring helps your home keep good hygiene conditions.

After testing (use of BacterZero)

Drop app. 2 mL of BacterZero (4 mL) on the medium.	Close the lid and have it evenly covered.	Leave for 30 min. and discard the medium.
