OZEMPIC® 2mg : Indications

OZEMPIC® 0.5mg is primarily used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially in patients who have difficulty controlling their blood sugar through diet and exercise alone. It is also indicated for reducing the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events in patients with type 2 diabetes and established heart disease.

Indications:

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Helps improve glycemic control.
• Cardiovascular Risk Reduction: Reduces major adverse cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, and cardiovascular death in high-risk patients.

OZEMPIC® 2mg : How To Use

OZEMPIC® is administered once a week, at any time of the day, with or without food. It should be injected subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, and the site should be rotated to avoid irritation. The starting dose is 0.25 mg once weekly for the first four weeks, and after that, the dose can be increased to 0.5 mg. If further control is needed, the dose can be adjusted up to 2 mg.

Instructions for Use:

1. Starting Dose: Begin with 0.25 mg once a week for 4 weeks.
2. Increase to 0.5 mg: After 4 weeks, increase the dose to 0.5 mg.
3. Injection Sites: Inject in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, rotating sites.
4. Missed Dose: Administer within 5 days of the missed dose; otherwise, skip and resume the regular schedule.

OZEMPIC® 2mg : Side Effects

Common side effects include gastrointestinal issues like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Serious side effects include pancreatitis, thyroid cancer, and kidney injury.

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain.
• Decreased appetite and fatigue.

Serious Side Effects:

• Pancreatitis: Severe abdominal pain and vomiting.
• Thyroid tumors: Including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
• Kidney injury: Due to severe gastrointestinal reactions.
