About Silkworm Cocoons

Silkworms are originally wild creatures. Their life cycle includes stages such as an egg, silkworm, and moth. Silkworms make cocoons to transform into moths, remaining in the cocoons for a certain period. In the wild, cocoons protect silkworms from harsh environments—heat, UV rays, moisture, cold, and rain—allowing them to safely become moths. These cocoons contain more than 18 natural proteins supporting moisturizing, UV protection, heat retention, waterproofing, wound healing, heat dissipation, regeneration, and soothing properties. They also include glue ingredients to retain these proteins.

Sericin and Fibroin

Silkworm cocoons mainly consist of fibroin and sericin proteins. Sericin coats the fibroin. Sericin is a protein component very similar to that needed for human skin production.
