Product Information
The Optical Q™ Troponin I diagnostic test is a proprietary point-of-care (POCT) fluorescence immunoassay (FIA) designed for prompt and accurate in-vitro quantitative measurement of Troponin I.
Troponin (TnI) is a complex of three regulatory proteins that are integral to muscle contraction in skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle. Troponin levels increase when heart muscles are damaged. Troponin tests thus measure the level of cardiac-specific troponin in the blood to help detect heart injury. There are three types of troponin proteins: troponin C, troponin T, and troponin I. Troponin I, specifically, can help identify individuals who have experienced damage to their heart.
The Optical Q™ Troponin I reagent test is used for the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. National and international scientific organizations have suggested the use of troponins, Tn-I and Tn-T, when implementing new diagnostic strategies in patients with acute coronary syndrome.
