Two-dimensional Hair Follicle Count- H&E Staining

The effects of Repilosome-GY on hair growth were evaluated. Results showed that number of hair follicles was increased in Repilosome- GY treated test group or Minoxidil treated test group (positive control) compared to Buffer only treated group (negative control). These results were further examined by employing 3-dimensional hair counting method illustrated in column 3 on the right. 

Increase of BrdU- Stained Cell Count
The effects of Repilosome-GY on hair matrix pro- genitor cell proliferation were evaluated. Only Repilosome-GY showed a significant prolifera- tion enhancing activity of the hair matrix pro- genitor cells. Minoxidil on the other hand lacked this activity and no difference was observable compared with the buffer-only negative control. 

Increase of Hair Number- 3-D SEM Count
Hair numbers were more accurately measured three-dimensionally using SEM (scanning electron microscope). The results clearly showed that Repilosome-GY increases hair number in a statistically significant manner when compared with either Minoxidil or even hGH-containing solution.
