Product Information
This equipment evaluates the combustion characteristics of building material, ship materials, etc.. It measures flame propagation speed, ignition temperature according to the distance, heat flow rate in the digestion, total heat release rate and etc.
This test method is based on ISO 5658-2 (Reaction to fire tests - Spread of flame - Part 2 Lateral spread on building products in vertical configuration) which is a method of evaluating the combustion characteristics of a specimen (155 mm x 800 mm) installed in a vertical direction.
The specimen is exposed to the appropriate radiant heat package supplied by the gas-fired radiation panel and measures the millivolt signal value with the calibrated thermocouple for the exhaust gas as the combustion progresses.
In addition, the flame propagation speed was recorded by recording the flame ignition and fire extinguishing time according to the distance of the specimen. Other test results were as follows: ignition temperature (MJ / m2), combustion sustained heat (MJ / m2) KW / m2), average burning heat, and total heat output (KW).

▣ Heat for sustained burning (MJ /m2)
The time from the first exposure of the specimen until the tip of the flame reaches each point multiplied by the radiant heat flux viewed through the incombustible calibrated plate at the same point
▣ Average heat for sustained burning (MJ /m2)
The average of the characteristic values measured at different positions by the continuous heat, the lower of the point characteristic values consecutive in 50 mm intervals from the first 1,500 mm point to the last point or 400 mm point
▣ Heat for ignition (MJ / m2)
The time from the initial exposure of the specimen to the point at which the tip of the flame reaches 150 mm multiplied by the heat flux at this point (provided heat flux is obtained from the pre-calibration of the test equipment).
▣ Critical flux at extinguishment (kW / m2)
Heat flux at the position where the flame propagates farthest from the centerline of the burning specimen. The recorded heat flux is obtained by calibrating the calibrator using the calibration plate.
