Introduction
Rotary
kiln is a pyroprocessing device used to raise materials to a high temperature
(calcination) in a continuous process. Materials produced using rotary kilns
include:

√ Iron ore pellets
They
are also used for roasting a wide variety of sulfide ores prior to metal
extraction.
Rotary
kiln is widely used for many industries like metallurgy, chemical industry,
building refractory materials, environmental protection, etc. The Rotary Kiln
consists of cylindrical shell, supporting device, supporting device of thrust roller,
driving unit, moveable kiln head, sealing device on the tail of kiln, coal dust
pipe device, etc. the kiln body has a certain tilt angle with level. The whole
kiln body is supported by the roller supporting device, and it is also equipped
with thrust roller device to control the up and down movement of the kiln body.
2. Advantage
(1).
New type technology is adopted by main driving system. Compared with
traditional magnetic and DC speed regulation, its main driving system has the
advantages like energy saving, environmental, wide speeding adjusting range,
high performance and stable operation.
(2).
After the welding of bases for supporting devices of supporting roller and
catching roller, vibration aging treatment should be applied for remove the
welding stress. Then, use vertical lathe and boring-milling machine for
integration fabrication. This process can guarantee the requirement of
fabrication precision and dimension & location tolerance. Installation
accuracy of rotary kiln is obviously improved.
(3).
Temperature measuring point is reserved at bearing base of supporting roller.
It is mainly used for automation detection of kiln operation status by insert
the measuring device.

Working Principle
The
kiln is a cylindrical vessel, inclined slightly to the horizontal, which is
rotated slowly about its axis. The material to be processed is fed into the
upper end of the cylinder. As the kiln rotates, material gradually moves down
towards the lower end, and may undergo a certain amount of stirring and mixing.
Hot gases pass along the kiln, sometimes in the same direction as the process
material (co-current), but usually in the opposite direction (counter-current).
The hot gases may be generated in an external furnace, or may be generated by a
flame inside the kiln. Such a flame is projected from a burner-pipe (or
"firing pipe") which acts like a large bunsen burner. The fuel for
this may be gas, oil, pulverized petroleum coke or pulverized coal.
