Rubberized bituminous non-mineral aggregate paving composition which has considerable load carrying ability, good flexibility and resiliency, and a specific gravity of less than about 1.5

Rubber is incorporated into molten Rubberized Bitumen and the resulting ‘mixture is shaped and cooled under sufficient pressure to maintain the shape of said composition. 

In General, the rubberized bitumen is first prepared by any a vigorously agitated body of molten bitumen at an excess of 250 F. The foam problem may be obviated.  

Non-mineral aggregate composition which may be shaped into paving blocks, be stored, and be used by the application of a suitable adhesive between the ‘surface of the paving block and the surface to which it is applied. 

Normally the latex should be added to the bitumen in sufficient amounts to give at least about 2% of rubber with the preferred amount being from about 5 to by weight of rubber on a bitumen basis
