Yellow phosphorus is colorless wax-type crystal, with garlic odor. Relative density 1.82 (20℃). Melting point 44.1℃. Boiling point 280℃. Relative steam density 4.3. Insoluble in water, easily soluble in fat, carbon disulfide and other organic solvents.  

Spontaneous combustion in the air at room temperature and oxidiation into diphosphorus trioxide and phosphorus pentoxide, so stored in water. 

3> Storage and transportation notice, packing mark:

Inflammable solid. Counter mark: Poison product.

Packing: (I) category.  

(a) Packed with drum, the yellow phosphorus should be fully immersed in water.  

(b) Put in the glass bottle, plastic bottle or metal container with water, the material should be fully immersed in it, put into solid wooden case after closely sealed.  

(c) The metal container should be sealed by inert gas.  

Yellow Phosphorus : Storage and transportation condition:  

It is best to stored in low cool and ventilated warehouse, at the temperature of 28℃.  

The warehouse should be equipped with pool or water tank, to seal by immerson in the water or by inert gas.

Check it three times a day, to ensure the water surface is 5cm higher than the phosphorus.  

Treat immediately in case of package damage or insufficience of water.  

Ater the operation, wash the hand and face with soap and clean water.  

Storage period: 4 months.  

Fire control: By water, abandon all the damaged containers.  

This product is commonly stored in metal drum.
