DESCRIPTION

The most reliable and equipment sparing vibration isolation and seismic restraint system is base mounted incorporating free standing vibration isolators and separate seismic snobbery. Unanchored, free standing vibration isolators ensure effective isolation while separate all directional seismic snobbery provide complete seismic protection and limit shock to the equipment. The supporting base is the key component of a successful system. Two independent rails rather than a continuous base would roll during an earthquake and result in failure. The base can be dither a steel frame or a concrete inertia base. Both system should be provided with height saving brackets for the vibration isolators and proper connection points for the seismic snobbery.

SPECIFICATION 

USS(100~500) is designed to keep the unit in place while cushioning the impact load with replaceable ¼”(6mm) thick bridge bearing neoprene bushings. Equipment shock is not calculated.
USS(2000~11000) is not only designed to keep the unit in place but the replaceable ¾”(19mm) thick bridge bearing neoprene bushings dramatically reduce the impact load to a maximum of 4g. The 4g acceleration is within the fragility tolerances of most equipment. This helps ensure continued functionality of the system as well as prevent motion. This is specifically critical to emergency generators, transformers, and other essential or life safety systems.

USS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 

1.Snobbery are inactive during normal operation and clearance must be maintained. 2. To maintain clearances around isolation bushing, unit is furnished with spacer washers and bussing.
3.If snobbery are installed on equipment such as blowers of pumps with flexible connections that move and remain in a different position during operation. Final positioning and adjustment of snobbery must be made with equipment in operation. 4. Use shims at brackets as required so that unit are installed without applying pressure on spacer washers or bushing. 5. After units are installed, remove spacer washers and bushing as follows; a. Remove lock nut from thru-bolt and remove thru-bolt. b. Remove anchor bolts from one bracket. If bracket was shimmed, note shim position. c. Remove bracket and remove spacer washers and bushing. d. Reinstall bracket and thru-bolt. If shims were used, shim as before.
