WDJ series motor electric energy saver

I. General 

WDJ series motor intelligent electric energy saver is a new energy-saving generation designed for case motor by utilizing modern high-tech micro-control technology and silicon controlled control technology by our company. It can automatically track and monitor the status of the load of the motor via special optimizing energy saving software contained in the computer chip in order to automatically adjust the input power of the motor to match the load perfectly. It can make the motor always in economic operation model and has an obvious energy saving effect. Especially for the case motor with light load or with variable load, its energy saving factor can up to 60%. WDJ has been widely used for 15~315KW three-phase asynchronous case motor with light or variable load in cement, petro, chemical industrial and metallurgy.

II. Operation principle

WDJ series motor intelligent electric energy saver produced by our company samples current and voltage signals from the stator loop of the motor, after being optimized by the computer, to control the conductive state of the three-path bidirectional silicon controlled, in order to control the starting current of the motor and the input power in motor operation process to fulfill the soft starting of the motor. It also has the functions of automatic following the variety of the motor load and automatic adjustment of the input power to save the energy and reduce the consumption. See the attached diagram 1 for the operation principle.

III. Performance characteristics

a. Constant current soft starting, voltage slope starting and impulse jump starting

Reset the current between 1Ie to 4Ie by the keyboard according to the load. The computer controls the fore and after movement of the trigger of the silicon controlled to fulfill the constant current soft starting of the motor; in the process of voltage slope starting, the variety value of the voltage reduces when time increases; for impulse jump starting, the value of the impulse jump voltage reduces when the setting value increases.

b. Soft stop and free stop

The time of soft stop is 0~180s, adjustable, set by the keyboard. (Put forward by the user beforehand)

c. Function of energy saving operation 

It has the function of automatic realizing the size of the load. When the motor is no load or with light load, the motor will be controlled to enter energy saving operation model. Usually, the energy saving factor when the motor is no load is about 60% and the general energy saving factor is about 5~18% according to different application. It also can improve the power factor and reduce the wire lost and the copper lost of the transformer. 

d. Reliable self protection function

Protect the motor open phase within 2 seconds. Protect the motor fault in the time range of 0-50seconds (adjustable). Its performance is far better than the protection of heat relay and its monitor can display the respective fault code.

e. DCS remote interface and computer RS485 interface.

IV. The operation of the starter

a. Start and stop

After WDJ powering on, the eight-bit nixie tube displays eight “0” and it displays eight “—”after one second which indicates WDJ has finished self inspection. Right now, if don’t set the parameter, press the start button and WDJ will control the starting and operation of the motor. If press the stop button, WDJ will cut off the power supply of the motor and the motor will stop running. In the state of parameter setting, it is invalid to press start or stop button. The start and stop of the motor can be controlled only after exit the parameter setting state.
