Sterilized rice wine is a product which can be stored for a long term by supplementing the expiry term without the use of preservative. It is a major product supplied to various regions of Korea as well as to the overseas markets. It is a naturally fermented alcoholic beverage fermented by micro-organisms in the main ingredients of rice or wheat (flour). It contains essential amino acid protein and vitamin B complex, which makes it healthy while being an alcoholic drink.

E-dong Brewery Co., Ltd., which is located in Baekwun Valley of Idong-myeong,
Gyeonggi-do, a famous place for its clear water, makes its makgeolli using the natural bedrock water drawn up from 200m underground to give it a deep and clean taste with a fresh aftertaste.
Following the teachings of the deceased Ha, Yu-cheon, a living pot enthusiast
and the founder of E-dong Makgeolli, that ‘the mind of the liquor maker is the most important’, all the employees start making makgeolli from early in the morning. Also, the mastermind to only produce a certain quantity based on our principles is one of our efforts that we put in to make the best taste and quality in making the specialty of Pocheon out of our love for the region.
By crafting the modern technology into the traditional makgeolli fermentation
experience and 60 years of history, we are developing our quality improvement, process management, new product development and product development for health-related functions. Also, by securing high-quality human resources, we are concentrating on R&D development in micro-organisms, fermentation and zymurgy.
Presently, we are a family company through the industry-academy technology cooperation with Hanyang University and Handong University, and making investments for excellent product development utilizing the wide research exchanges and professional knowledge.
The main production facilities are completed with the axenic pack makgeolli production facilities imported from Combibloc in Germany and low-temperature sterilization facilities for preprocessing from Sweden.
Since 1993, we started exporting in 20 countries around the globe including Japan, US and China, and 2011, achieved exports worth 4.2 million dollars.
