New conceptual "Induced Plant Defense Signaling Substance"
In plants, once exposed to a pathogen, a resistance response occurs against the same pathogen. Such resistance is called induced systemic resistance. The induced systemic resistance occurs in two different ways, one is local acquired resistance (LAR) which responds on localized area and the other is systemic acquired resistance (SAR) which is a "whole-plant" resistance response. When the resistance responds, some materials occur in plant to resist against pathogens. Therefore the method of preventing plant diseases by utilizing these resistant materials is to be said new, safe and resistance promoting prevention method. That is, contrary to existing agricultural chemicals that focus on direct disinfection of disease causing bacteria, even though the method is less disinfective directly to microbes, however, it is new conceptual method to function on plants, to improve resistance of plant against diseases and so prevent and quarantine diseases. The defense mechanism of these materials is started by means that the product of disease resistance(R) gene specifically recognizes the product of avirulent gene of disease causing bacteria or the decomposed materials of plant cellular membrane caused by disease causing bacteria, etc. GeumGangChoRong is composed of these systemic resistance materials of plants.
