PIPE COATING PLANT

This plant was developed as new technique to provide against future request and need for coating on Pipe and C-shape steel.

1.The reason why steel manufacture set up this plant.

• To proof against rust and corrosion on surface of product during delivery after production.
• To solve problem which is caused during 1^st base coating. A lot of still pipe manufacturers have been installing this plant.

• Deliver goods from steel pipe manufacturer.
  There is possibility to induce a flaw on product surface during transportation and by climatic influence ( rain, snow and frost etc..)
• Long-term stock
  Because a distributor can not prevent rust or corrosion that is occurred on surface of product. When keep long-term, an inventory should be disposed for its scrap value. So the 1^st base coating is required.

2-2. A requirement of customer
Because the first user who make new product with original pipe has to coat the surface, the  pipe is exposed in the air.

In case of this process

• The company can be pronounced fine or detention by environmental law violation through mistake that pollute air.
• Worker lose his health by influence of poisonous ingredient that is contained in paint.
• Among general coating method,

a) with Bush or Roller

• Because coating film is thick, a consumption of paint and cost for coating are increased.
• The floor is contaminated
• working time is long
• personnel expense is increased

b) Spray coating with air

The paint dispersed in the air,

• polluter the circumstance ( a spouted paint spread about 400m )
• even though a lot of quantity of paint was sprayed, it is about 15% that is coated on the surface of pipe, so it is also economical loss.
• worker can suffer damage to hazardous object. So the customer prefer to buy the pipe with 1^st surface treatment for their economical.

[ Estimation and problem solution of pipe coating plant ]

It was designed to come forward in succession with washing and coating a round (or square) pipe that become charging consecutively by Roll conveyor.

There are problems in manufacture, transportation and installation because the structure of this system is complex.

Pretreatment à Washing ( cleaning ( with milling oil) : 5 ~ 10 sec., air blowder : 5 ~ 10 sec.)Moisture dry oven & coating dry oven  à M.F Heater.

We lowered equipment price greatly by method such as upside. ( usual line : \3,000,000,000 ~ 4,000,000,000.-  , Developed plant : \500,000,000.-)

Environmental problem about wastewater and air pollution
We reduced displacement from coating booth by lower than acceptable level to solve problem about wastewater and air pollution. And we install the paint-withdrawal device to solve wastewater and air pollution problem. This solves environmental problem and reduced burden of environmental problem in future equipment planning.

Cost reduction of Paint

A) comparison of Paint cost reduction according to coating method

1. Brush coating
   Coating that do by brush is convenient to coat big product freely and it is advantage that unnecessary consumption of coating material does not exist. But, it is not suitable to a pipe for mass production.
2. Air-spray coating
   It is easy to handle the air-spray coating and widely used because various shape and size can be coated and fine view is superior. But a paint is dispersed too much and coating efficiency is low. And the cost of equipment for mass production is expensive.
   So it make environment problem with dispersed paint. The consumption of paint is increased.
3. Air-less spray coating
   This is the method which meet your need. The liquid in commonness and High-viscosity are atomized efficiently and the particle is thin relatively and uniform.
   Because air-less spray do not use air to be atomized, work-efficiency is high and waste of paint is decreased much.
4. Electrical coloring
   There are two ways to do color-coating by electric method, electrostatic coating. In this method,
   - coating thicknesses equal
   - surface gloss is excellent
   - coating is available by discharge of small quantity.
   But this is used for small product and the price of equipment is very expensive.

B) Cost reduction with equipment
We got a patent of this plant which was developed for paint cost reduction and protecting environment. In current coating plant, the A/C tower is equipped behind paint boot. But, because a dispersed paint is radiated without filtering from paint booth, A/C tower can not prevent the air pollution and more than 70% of paint is wasted. So we developed the paint recycling system which can take 90% of paint from waste paint and save the paint cost.
