The eco-friendly nickel-hydride battery for car Endplate part is a core part of the nickel-hydride battery that decide the durability and safety of a product as it is installed at both ends of the nickel-hydride battery and used as a safety plate to prevent the combining of cells and explosion.
Impact resistance and high toughness are required for the safety cover aluminum part to prevent explosion of nickel-hydride battery as it has a danger of explosion due to the expansion of the cell.
At the moment, problems came to the fore for the Endplate part for the nickel-hydride battery that mass production is difficult and the production cost is high as they are produced in NC processing with the material of 6000 series aluminum which is a processed material, and it is a product developed and produced by our company through the die casting method that has the high productivity and low production cost.
Al-Mg series alloy that has high contains of Mg out of Aluminum alloys for die casting should be used for the Endplate aluminum part for the nickel-hydride battery as it requires impact resistance and high toughness. And the safety cover to prevent explosion is very difficult to form in die casting method as the structure has many Ribs of 6 mm installed on the shape of wide plate that play the role of middle reinforcement.
Current Al-Mg Alloy created a big problem in producing of good quality part because the defect of contraction, defect of casting such as non-forming etc. and die burning are generated during the manufacturing of the product in die casting method.
Our company developed a safety cover aluminum die casting part to prevent explosion of eco-friendly nickel-hydride battery for car through the adjustment of alloy components, flow analysis by computer, optimum mold plan, and casting plan design.
