ExpertLCD

TFT-LCD is made up with a TFT(Thin Film Transistor, a Liquid Crystal Cell, and wires, and these elements work both independently and dependently to transform electric signals into visible signals. Therefore, to develop TFT-LCDs, understanding each part's features and their mutual relations is essential.
ExpertLCD provides a method to greatly reduce develop costs and time by showing and analyzing the characteristics of each element on the computer. The main modules of ExpertLCD are integrating the TFT, LCC, wiring characteristics and the operation between these parts and analyzing the final result image.

• TFT analysis : calculates the I-V, C-V characteristics between the source, drain, and gate analytically considering the length, width, and Tox based on the built-in amorphous TFT model. Also, it is able to input externally calculated or measured values.
• Array Analysis : Defines the form and wiring of the Liquid Crystal Pixel 3-dimensionally, and calculates the wire's resistance, and the capacity between wire/wire, wire/pixel analytically. Also, RC delay caused by resistance and capacity can be computed out of it.
• Liquid Crystal Cell : Solves out the solution of Poisson equations and elasticity equations, and calculates the director configuration, cell capacity, and cell response time following the variation of the electrode potential distribution inside the Liquid Crystal Cell.
• Cell Electrical analysis : By using circuit simulation, analytically calculates data such as waveform and timing at each voltage loaded on each terminal of the TFT-LC-interconnection circuit. By doing this, you can analyze the panel's characteristics followed by the LCD panel's running type.
• Optical Analysis : Computes the optical transmission characteristics of the Liquid Crystal by transforming the optical wave equation of the uniform, homogeneous anisotropic medium into 4x4 Jones Matrix. Analyzes the final optical transmission characteristics from the computed result, considering back light spectrum, color filter, glass, compensation film.
• Display Image : Interprets the display panel characteristics that real users may feel, by integrating data from each modules, such as TFT, LC, Optical, RC delay, circuit, etc., and analyzing the viewing angle, viewer distance, and the image characteristics for varying input image signals.
• Others : Input and characteristic graph print-out module.

ExpertOLED

The OELD device is made up with the radiating part and stacked structures. Also, to minimize the external reflections, a thin metal film(the thickness is several angstroms) is used. To minimize the power consumption, we need to maximize the efficiency of reflected lights.
For this, electromagnetic wave analysis on the thin metal film, the reflecting plate, and inside the stacked structures is required.
By doing this, analyzing the radiating characteristic and stacked structures becomes possible by software and then, an optimized scheme can be proposed.
ExpertOELD's main modules are the structure builder, the electromagnetic wave analyzing module, and the stacked structure optimizing module.
