System Overview

The cold test checks the functioning of the mechanical engine components. Mainly these are crank mechanism, valve train and lubricating system. Today it is also possible to check the ignition system, the injection system, the wiring harness as well as the sensors and actuators.
By measuring the sequence of various signals such as intake depression, exhaust back pressure, turnover torque it is possible to form conclusions on the mechanical integrity.

Test Item

• Breakaway torque test - deformation on piston ring, Piston Ring deformation and C/BLOCK scratch,
  crankshaft bearing Debris, con-rod bearing Debris, cam shaft bearing Debris.
  
• Running torque test - deformation parts, Piston Ring deformation and C/BLOCK scratch, crankshaft
  bearing Debris, con-rod bearing Debris, camshaft bearing Debris,
  
• Intake pressure test - valve timing, valve function and components, deformation parts(valve, spring,
  life , others)
  
• Exhaust pressure test - valve timing, valve function and components, deformation parts (valve, spring, life and others)
  
• Oil pressure test - Oil gallery (jammed/leak), deformation on main BRG, deformation on oil jet
  
• Oil temperature measure - measuring for compensation for oil pressure depending on oil temperature
  
• Cam to crank timing test - sensing angle of cam signal, cam signal starting angle, cam signal
  termination angle, and IN/EX cam timing.
  
• Vibration test - engine debris, assembly of piston in the wrong direction, deformation on con-rod BRG, con-rod bolt pre assembly, misspecification of oil pump, loose parts, noise from lubrication
  
• Fuel line test - common rail leakage, injector performance test
