All ambient air contains moisture, so compressed air is hot and saturated with moisture when it leaves the compressor outlet. JAC Series Aftercoolers are first line of defense against moisture in compressed air systems. By decreasing the compressed air temperature they cause some of the entrained water vapor to condensate. The condensate is then removed from the air steam by separator or drain trap.

How it works

JAC Series Aftercoolers are heat exchanger that utilize the ambient air as cooling medium to lower the temperature of compressed air. The ambient air-a cooling medium-generally passes over the outside of the tubes and the compressed air passes through the inside. The ambient air cools the compressed air, causing most of the entrained water vapor to condense. Used in conjunction with a Separator and Automatic drain valve(optional), over 90% of the water will be removed. This is the first necessary line of defense against moisture in compressed air system.
