Aspartame can be used as intense sweetener (160 to 250 times sweetness of sucrose)and flavour enhancer in food products such as desserts, soft drinks, coffee, jams andjellies, chewing gum, chocolate and similar products. But it is not suitable to cannedfoods or products which will be baked or roasted in a high temperature.
Aspartame could also be used in pharmaceutical industry such as tablets, sugar-freesyrups, powdered mixes and effervescent tablets.
