A TRS/GPS adapter SNMP Agent enables users to perform SNMP management tasks and access the web server. This enables the network administrator to monitor and control an RS-232 type or dry port type UPS. But, it requires network management software such as HP Open View, SUN Manager or other equivalent program and an internet browser program such as Netscape or Microsoft Internet Explorer. When SNMP and http (Web Server) protocols are used, the TRS/GPS SNMP adapter easily enables users to monitor and control the UPS on the LAN basis using the network management program. The most important thing is that power management on a remote location has to be rendered on the web. Since several computers monitor the UPS system on the remote location by using a combination of SNMP monitoring software, a safe system shutdown can be used to avoid unexpected power consumption.
