How to Use

  1. Jjigae
    Add 500cc of water to the can and boil it five minutes.(According to your taste, add leeks, onions, tofu and pork.)
  2. Side Dish
    Can be used as a side dish right after you open the can.
  3. Sauce
    Can be used as a sauce right after you open the can. You may add garlics and sesame oil.
  4. Condiment
    Use it for jjiage and soup. (Especially good for soybean jjigae or soup.)
  5. Jam
    Eat bread with cheonggukjang for your health and unique taste.

Cheonggukjang

When boiled beans are put in the hot place to be fermented, cheongguikjang is made. Despite of its unique flavor, as it is rich in protein and contains useful materials generated during fermentation, cheongguikjang is good for treating cancer, removing blood clots, and strengthening the liver. (Also, it is known to be effective for constipation, obesity, stroke, hypertension, skin trouble, dementia and hangover) Cheonggukjang is nutritious and easy to digest. When cultured bacteria is added to boiled beans, cheonggukjang can be made within a day.

When cheonggukjang is made through natural fermentation, fermented beans are dipped in water for 10 ~ 20 hours. Then, beans are dried and warmed. When beans are kept in a place where the temperature remains at 60 ℃, bacillus grows and fermentation started. Bacillus grows best at 40∼45 ℃ and is known to reduce carcinogens and help to excrete harmful materials from our body. Though bacillus is abundant in the air, as rice straws have many of it, they are added when making cheonggukjang.

Founded as a Korean traditional food processing factory with area of about 5300 pyung and floor space of about 500 pyung in production area by the support of the Ministry of Agriculture in May 1991, Durebang Foods Inc. is a traditional food processing firm located in Jeongjang-Ri, Geochang-eup, Geochang-Gun, Kyungnam, Korea.

We are producing Sikhyemakinghe, processed malt with which even kindergartener and foreigner are able to make Sikhye easily, Sikhye(Sweet Drink made from Fermented Rice, a kind of traditional food), Sujeonggwa(Sweet Drink made from Persimmon), Sesame Oil, Perilla Oil and Parched Sesame. Our products also include Cheonggukjang (Fermented Soy bean, Raw Cheonggukjang, Powered Cheonggukjang, Cheonggukjang Pill)), Canned Cheonggukjang, seasonings such as Anchovy Dasi(seasonings made from anchovy), Cham Anchovy, Prawn, health foods such as Pleuropterus multflorus and Flex seed.

Also Sapona(Gynostemma pentaphyllum extract) and Green Chilli Pepper Seasonings Sauce and Jajang for children have already been developed and are going to be launched into market in late 2009.
