The tradeKorea Operations Center organized the "2024 tradeKorea Matching Day" export consultation event, aimed at supporting Korean exporters in entering global markets. The center provided comprehensive export assistance, including tailored matchmaking between domestic companies and qualified overseas buyers, networking opportunities, and follow-up support.

Company W, a trading firm specializing in K-food and household goods distribution, offers extensive export services and trade consulting for food and household products. The company distributes over 5,200 items, including Halal and vegan products tailored to buyer needs, as well as various household goods. Company W also operates four in-house brands—such as makgeolli, soju, and noodle products—and has expanded its product lineup to include dipping sauces.

During the consultation event, a buyer sought to source frozen foods and sauces suitable for local distribution and held a business meeting with Company W, which offers a broad product range and significant competitiveness. To facilitate smooth discussions, the matching manager provided necessary materials and specific requests in advance, enhancing the efficiency of the consultation.

Considering Australia's conservative stance toward imported products, the manager also reviewed key requirements such as packaging localization and mandatory certifications to avoid potential challenges in the export process. The buyer responded positively to the diverse product portfolio and high quality of Korean suppliers, continuing discussions on export conditions, pricing, and order volumes. As a result, a sample export worth approximately USD 3,000 was finalized, establishing a foundation for potential long-term business.

The Korean company expressed gratitude to the matching manager for assisting it in taking its first step into the Australian market, which holds strong potential but has been difficult to access. The buyer also noted that the event was highly valuable for discovering various Korean suppliers and conducting efficient meetings, indicating an intention to continue participating in future export consultations hosted by the Korea International Trade Association.
