N’s major export items

The CBT Marketing Center helped exporting companies operating in Gyeonggi-do through the “Gyeonggi-do Products Exhibition Hall” at the 2022 Gyeonggi-based Exporters’ Online Exhibition. The center helped various companies to launch products at the online exhibition hall within tradeKorea, create customized seller stores, and start bulk mailing for marketing campaigns. In addition, the center guided them through their overseas diversification campaigns by identifying potential buyers and matching them with overseas buyers.

N, a recipient of the support program and a Korean food distributor, handles a broad spectrum of Korean food brands including Orion, Lotte, and Nongshim, as well as products of small food companies. N is currently exporting Korean food products to thirteen countries including Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Singapore, and Indonesia. One of N’s strengths is its extensive knowledge of the customs clearance procedures and labeling requirements of different target markets which it has accumulated over the years from its sales experience in overseas markets.

Founded in 2019, the buyer is a distributor of Korean food products that operates online and offline channels in United Arab Emirates, through which it distributes a variety of Korean food products including confectionery and snacks, instant food, and sauces, as well as halal food. The marketing manager briefed the buyer on N’s main export items and arranged a meeting for the two parties, based on the needs of the buyer, who wanted to source various kinds of Korean food on an ongoing basis.

The two companies held an online meeting (Video Call Service) and the buyer found it appealing that N deals with various brands. Furthermore, the buyer was particularly pleased that N supplies products at a minimum distribution margin and that orders can be placed in small quantities. The buyer placed sample orders to initiate a deal and the two companies held a second meeting in 2023 at the “UAE Economic Delegation” in Abu Dhabi. At the meeting, they negotiated FCL orders and the buyer proceeded with FCL orders, with an increase in the quantity. Later, they met once again for the second face-to-face meeting at “Boom Up Korea” which was held at COEX Seoul in October, resulting in the signing of an MOU amounting to USD 1 million. The deal was followed by seven more export transactions worth a total of USD 138,967.75 amid the marketing manager’s continued support for communication. Their partnership is expected to continue.

N sincerely thanked the marketing manager for arranging for the company to meet with the buyer, which led to its first opportunity to export to the United Arab Emirates. The marketing manager plans to play an active role in helping Korean companies to find overseas buyers and to expand their sales in overseas markets by employing diverse buyer marketing strategies.
