Operating and adjusting the grind fineness of the Mahlkonig EK 43 is quite simple. Press on the handle of the bag holder and slide an open bag onto the spout. Release the handle to hold the bag in place. Use the large rotary knob on the front of the grinder to select desired grind fineness, and then switch on the grinder! Voila! It will grind a pound of coffee in less than a minute. It is a great choice for a retail bulk coffee sales operation.

Grinder Burrs
The large 98mm grinder burrs are made of cast steel for very long life. They operate at a relatively slow speed of 1740 rotations per minute, keeping the heat build-up from grinding friction to a minimum thereby saving flavor and aroma qualities.
Bean Hopper
The standard 2.2lb capacity sealable bean hoppers come with a tight fitting lid and a slide gate at the bottom to allow removal from the grinder while still loaded with beans. The slide gate lets you add more hoppers with different coffees to expand your service capability.
Safety
The motor is protected by an over load circuit breaker that is easily accessible just above the on / off switch. The motor is further protected from thermal overload by a thermostatic sensor inserted in the motor windings. Upon excessive heat build-up the sensor will interrupt the power circuit and not reset until after about an hour cool down period. A combined finger protector / magnet holder is fitted in the hopper to keep a user from reaching into the running grinding mechanism. A magnet set in the hopper prevents ferrous objects from getting down into the grinder mechanism.
